Week #2- Kaleigh Collett- COVID

My dad, Jim Collett, being the least cooperative subject in the world, muttered under his breath as I snapped a quick photo before starting his haircut. Fallston, MD. 4/11/20

My oldest cat, Sadie, loves my dad. She didn't find her love for him until I went to college, but now they are best friends. In this moment, she insisted on climbing into the window sill above our kitchen sink to watch him clean the deck. 4/10/20

Oliver (L) and Millie (R) come running when they hear the dryer turn on to get first dibs on the small space on the warm top. They always end up snuggling close together. 4/8/20

On the rare occasion that I decide to take a selfie, it's usually with my kitten, Millie. She was taking a nap when I decided to lay down next to her. She wasn't thrilled to be woken up. Fallston, MD. 4/9/20

My three cats were all adopted at different ages at different times, which has caused some disconnect as a group. In the two years that they've all lived together, this is the first time they've all laid with me at one time. 4/12/20

My best friend, Olivia, bred her horse on Easter last year. Less than a week before Easter this year, the foal, now named Violet, was born. Visiting her was the first time I was able to see Olivia in over a month. Joppa, MD. 4/10/20.

Violet nurses on her surrogate mother, Coco. The sweet connection between the 3-day-old foal and her mother brought me so much joy in these dark times. 4/10/20.

Rocco tends to lay on his front legs to shield his eyes from the bright lights because he has cataracts, but it also is an evolutionary trait for dogs who are taking a nap but need to get up and move fast in case of danger arises. Rocco sleeps upside on his specialty puppy blanket because of his high body temperature. Dogs cannot sweat so they often pant and if they are hot when they sleep, they air out their bellies and paws. Rocco is getting sick of his owner's sticking camera's in his face all of the time. He recently got a haircut and those take a lot of energy out of him, so his patience is running thin. Unlike other dogs, Rocco enjoys car rides and he often uses the time on the road to nap or sticks his face into the oncoming air from the AC or from outside of the window. Week #4 - Ellen Feng

With more time on his hands, Nathan has tried to relearn some of his soccer skills. However, Willow proves to be a distraction by going after the ball every time it gets kicked.    In the Feng family, Nathan seems to have taken the role of being a clown, entertaining everyone during quarantine.   Ed Feng works for many hours for Merck in his makeshift office.  Ellen is the only person in the house who eats peanut butter, meaning ever since she has been home, Willow has gotten more chances to eat her favorite snack. When Ellen is done with the peanut butter jar, she gives it to Willow to clean out.   Samson loves laundry day in the Feng household. As Diana puts on new sheets, Samson likes to play with the pillow cases and have blankets put on top of him.  Instead of going to classes at the University of Maryland, Ellen now listens to prerecorded lectures for many of her classes.   Since coming home...

Week #3 - Michael Kim

During the ongoing health crisis, those who are most at risk tend to be the elderly population. While celebrating their granddaughter's graduation, Mr. and Mrs. Kim still try to follow social distancing by sitting at the end of the table.  Although her daughter's college graduation was supposed to be today, Soo Kim is in high spirits as she tries to provide a party for her daughter's special day. With restaurants only serving pick up or delivery services, the Kim family could not stick with their original plan of dining at a nice restaurant for their oldest daughter's graduation.    Although her commencement was canceled just weeks before it was set to take place, the recent University of Pittsburgh alumnus Cathy Kim tries to make the most of her situation and spend time with her family.  College student Elijah Cordery receives a donation of masks for his mother who is an Intensive Care Unit nurse at the University of Pennslyvania Hospital.
