Week #2 -- Joy Saha

Mud and left over rain water pools at the bottom of my duplex apartment after a heavy spring storm. The excessive rain water and mud also seeped into my downstairs neighbor's kitchen, forcing them to change and replace their entire kitchen floor. Minutes after this photo was taken, the brief bit of sunlight disappeared and the second wave of the spring storm started.

This small parking area is a popular playing spot for all the neighborhood kids. Ever since Maryland stay-at-home orders became stricter and the transition to online classes was announced, this parking spot has been eerily quiet and vacant.

My mother, Luna Saha, and I woke up at 6:30 a.m. on a sunny Saturday morning to bake a fresh batch of bagels for our routine family breakfast. This is the first time we baked our own bagels and even though they tasted delicious, we realized that our bagels were a bit too large and many were missing their signature bagel holes.

My mother and I were craving fresh coconut and coconut water so we picked up this little coconut from our local Trader Joe's in Rockville, Maryland. This coconut was not as fresh as we anticipated because of the thin crack found around the circumference of the fruit.
