Final Project - Ellen Feng - Quarantine in Schwenksville, Pa
Juni asks to go outside at least 7 times during the day using a dog doorbell. However, she doesn't understand how to ask to come back inside and waits for someone to notice her.
Listening to online lectures isn't as engaging as attending them in person. As the semester progressed, it became more of a struggle for me to finish assignments of good quality.
My brother, Nate, hasn't had to do much homework. His high school wasn't able to prepare much for transitioning online. He spends about an hour a day doing homework and the rest playing video games with his friends.
My mom, Diana Montgomery, has a special relationship with our cat Samson. He likes to follow her around and gets himself involved in everything. It makes doing her Merck work and housework more difficult, but more amusing.
My dad, Ed Feng, has a lot on his plate at work, always calling into meetings or analyzing data from experiments. He often works beyond the regular 9-5 work clock and even works on the weekends.
Willow loves peanut butter but hasn't been able to have any since I've gone to college. Now that I'm home for quarantine, I give her the peanut butter jar when I'm done with it as a treat.
I started using my sewing machine during quarantine and made the shirt I'm wearing in this picture!
My parents go on walks with our two dogs everyday at 4 p.m. throughout the neighborhood.
On Sunday mornings, my dad makes lunch for the week and my mom reads her book on the Ipad. Samson can also usually be found slinking around somewhere nearby.
During quarantine, I try to put on makeup and dress nicely a couple times a week to keep a sense of normalcy.
I caught Nate and my mom mulching the yard. However, both of them at this point were a little annoyed with getting their picture taken.
When my dad does finally take a break, he sits on the couch with Willow and scrolls on Facebook or plays puzzle games on his phone.
Two bros just chillin' out.
Nate tries to get out of practicing the cello by acting like a goofball and distracting my dad.
Willow: How come we're not there yet?!
Dad: You have to wait!
I've brought some bad habits back coming home from college...
My parents are new to the whole social media scene. They like showing each other funny dog and cat videos while Nate and I try to explain to them what TikToks and memes are.
Samson usually asks for a pickup from my mom everyday. Being in quarantine, Samson gets more pickups than ever before. While he may look sweet now, if anyone else tried to hold him, they would get scratched!
Despite how it smells, Willow actually loves her chicken flavored toothpaste, almost more than she loves her dad.
So over it.
